Meet: BUBBA the bass!!

For around 50 years our family has been stocking the lake at Sweet Valley Cottages. We seem to have achieved a great balance of Bass, Trout, and Bluegills, with a few Catfish thrown in for good measure. Since we have converted to "Catch and Release" recreational fishing we are seeing an increase in the size of our fish.

Fishing at the "cottages" can be done from the shoreline or our row boat, available for our guests. Fishing here is just a whole lot of fun for everyone. Even the beginners have a great time and good luck catching bluegills.

"OK this spot is a "silitary mecret". Must locals don't even know they opened up the reservoir to shoreline fishing. The reservoir is huge with lots of fish. Note: there's no sign at the entrance. Mumz the word!"

Ceasetown Reservoir

The parking area for shoreline fishing at the Ceasetown Reservoir is located just south on Rt 29 past the entrance sign for Moon Lake Park

Lake Jean at Ricketts Glen State Park

The 245-acre Lake Jean has warm-water game fish, panfish and trout. Lake shore fishing, boat launch and boat rentals available. The Boat Rental offers pedal and rowboats along with canoes and kayaks. Hour of operations are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For additional information, call 570-477-2837 Please follow all Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission rules and regulations. Fishing is prohibited in the Glens Natural Area.

12 miles west turn right off Route 118 onto Rt 487. Lake Jean is located at the top off Red Rock Mountain in the Ricketts Glen State Park.

Moon Lake County Park

Frances Slocum State Park
only a short 16 minute ride from Sweet Valley Cottages

The horseshoe-shaped lake provides 165 acres for boating and fishing.

Fishing: Anglers will enjoy the wide selection of warm water species. Frances Slocum Lake has crappie, bluegill, perch, catfish, muskellunge, pickerel, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and walleye.

Take Route 309 South approximately 6 miles. Turn right (east) on Carverton Road and go approximately 4 miles (4.2). Turn left (north) on 8th Street Road and go approximately one mile (1.3). Turn left (west) onto Mt. Olivet Road and go one mile. The park entrance is on the left.
